The new Toy Story 3 characters are the welcoming committee of the Sunnyside Daycare town - the place where Andy's mom accidentally sends them after they get tossed out by mistake and crawl into a donation box.
While some of the toys are authentically nice, others as we'll see, have an ulterior motive that doesn't benefit Andy's toys. The same voices are back from the original two Toy Story movies - Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear.
Lego Story
The actors signed on when they were shown a completed story reel using pre-recorded voices - so they could see, instead of just read, what the movie would be about this time around.
For Toy Story 3, we see several new characters and high profile voices advent to the set. Michael Keaton plays Ken, who may not have the best of intentions by the end of the movie. Ned Beatty plays Lots-o-Huggin-Bear, and Whoopie Goldberg voices a character named Stretch.
Emily Hahn is a new personality who will voice the character of Bonnie, the Sunnyside daycare kid who takes Woody home where he finds out the horrors of what Sunnyside is all about from Mr. Pricklepants (voiced by Timothy Dalton).
Because Andy's exiguous sister Molly is older now, Disney-Pixar brought on another child actress to voice her character - a young lady named Beatrice Miller, who has a track report already established in voicing attractive characters from Ice Age movies among others.
And Jodi Benson, who has helped bring many attractive characters to life (including Ariel in The exiguous Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning, Helen of Troy in Hercules, and Jenna in the Balto movies), will be the voice of Barbie, who catches the eye of Ken, a mansion-owning doll who resides in Sunnyside Daycare Center.
The director, Lee Unkrich, who also worked on editing Toy Story and co-directing Toy Story 2, assures us that our old favorite characters will be back for a role reprisal, too - together with Rc, Lenny, Wheezy, and Bo Peep.
Some of the other new characters we see come to light in Toy Story 3 are Richard Kind as Bookworm, Bonnie Hunt as Dolly, Jack Angel as Chunk, Teddy Newton as Chatter Telephone, James Anthony Cotton as Chuckles the Clown, Kristen Schaal as Trixie and Jeff Garlin as Buttercup.
Make sure you agenda a fun filled family movie night for June 18th, 2010 so that the whole clan can see Woody scramble to make things right once again before Andy takes off for college.
