Lego Star Wars chronicle 2010 - Set 8095 normal Grievous' Starfighter

When Lego releases the second wave of Star Wars toys for 2010 much attentiveness will be paid to the redesigned minifigure of normal Grievous who comes with his redesigned starfighter in set 8095. Grievous was featured in only one of the Star Wars films, episode Three Revenge Of The Sith where his bad guy turn was overshadowed by the real bad guys, Darth Vader and Darth Sidious.

When George Lucas put together The Clone Wars animated television series however, Grievous became the original antagonist and his ruthless prestige grew with the killing of Kit Fisto's previous apprentice Mon Calamari Jedi Knight Nahdar Vebb in the Season One episode entitled The Lair Of Grievous. Nahdar is also featured in the set, as is the droid Ev-A4-D.

Lego Story

Lego originally released Grievous as a form to accompany the first publish of his starfighter in 2007 but it was maligned by fans as maybe the worst minifigure compose of the Star Wars Lego universe. Hoping to regain a miniature credibility, Lego has altered the compose completely and the new version is much improved. Grievous is at once recognisable as his Clone Wars version and thankfully comes with specially sculpted pieces and printing on his head.

The new starfighter compose is also an improvement. There are pop out missiles on the side of the ship and a more definite windscreen piece. As well the compose is more colourful, though not so as it detracts from the wide accuracy of the ship. It's quite sturdy and swooshable, an enjoyable build and play for fans over eight years.

The set comes with 454 pieces, the three minifigures and a whole heap of chrome handled lightsabers for Grievous to wield. As Grevious is a fairly specialised form that I doubt will appear in a magnet set anytime soon, chances are this set will attract a lot of love from fans because of the minifig appeal.
