Year after year, Lego toys have made it to the Christmas wish lists of countless dinky boys and girls. This year is no different. Lego's best-selling Christmas toy this time around is the mobile Command Center, an all-in-one adventure that includes 1,154 pieces and a mission.
The set has a back-story that explains why the mission is what it is, and how it must be carried out. And what is that mission, exactly, and how must it be carried out? The proud owner of the Lego mobile Command center must alert the four Lego Agents that the evil Dr. Inferno (presently imprisoned in the Command Center) is attempting an escape, and the Agents have to stop him! But the task isn't just a four-on-one kind of deal; Dr. Inferno has henchman crawling around the center helping him to escape! All four agents (Chase, Fuse, Charge, Trace), henchman (Gold Tooth and Spy Clops), and Dr. Inferno are included in the set, along with a jet boat, plane, and two cars.
Lego Story
The entire mobile Command center can go undercover, as it is stored in a truck that is over 20 inches long and six inches high. When the truck is open, the Command center is revealed and ready for action. This protects both the many, many pieces from being lost, eaten by a pet, or vacuumed up, and your feet from getting plastic blocks lodged into them.
It's categorically marvelous how much staying power Lego has had in a world of mechanical and digital (read: fancy) toys and games. Sometimes we underestimate the value and power of good old fashioned building blocks and spy games, and Lego reminds us of their popularity with the mobile Command Center-and Toy Wishes Magazine recognizes its ingenuity by naming it one of the "Hot Dozen" toys this season.
